I think this concept of marriage was initiated by females to book a male for self to fulfil his need of becoming mother which otherwise is not possible. The fact remains that whenever there is a war the no. of males falls drastically and females qty remains more or less same. Hence the problem of getting pregnant or getting sexual needs fulfilled becomes a major issue for the leftover people. then females start using different techniques to lure left over males. Mostly leftover males find it hard to satisfy the needs and this gives rise to a bigger problem. Hence intelligent and practical females chose a path and develop the system of marriage. Over a period more male births takes place because giving birth to a female child is shear by luck alone, mostly delivered child are male. (This tendancy u can watch in pet animals also). Each praani born on this earth has a definite Janam Varn, which is dependant on the grand parents (Father side) and it can never change. Next is Karm Varan which a person acquires when he goes into profession and it is selectable by the person of choice hence can change any time till he survives. and third is Jaati which is mostly due to the place one took birth in. This also do not change. But bdepending on the region it may be main cast or sub cast in the main caste. Hence do not get confused with the word and try to check which is the main caste and which is the sub caste.
